Step-by-Step Instructions

Open the QR Code Generator

Navigate to our homepage to access the free QR code generator. Click on the type selector to view all available QR code types.

Tip: Works in any browser - no account or installation required.

Select Location Type

In the type selector, find and click on "Location". This creates a QR code that opens a map app with your location pinned.

Tip: Location QR codes work with Google Maps, Apple Maps, and other map apps.

Enter Latitude and Longitude

Enter the GPS coordinates for your location. You can find these by right-clicking a location in Google Maps and copying the coordinates.

Tip: Format: Latitude first (e.g., 40.7128), then Longitude (e.g., -74.0060 for NYC).

Add Location Name (Optional)

Enter a name or label for the location that will be displayed in the map app. This helps users identify where they're navigating to.

Tip: Use your business name or a descriptive label like "Main Entrance".

Customize Style (Optional)

Click the "Style" tab to customize colors, patterns, and add your logo. Match your brand for professional signage.

Tip: High contrast ensures reliable scanning, especially for outdoor signage.

Preview and Test

Scan the preview QR code with your phone. Your default map app should open with the location pinned. Verify it's the correct spot.

Tip: Test navigation to make sure the pin is exactly where you want visitors to go.

Download Your QR Code

Click Download and select your format. SVG for print signage, PNG for digital use. Choose a size appropriate for viewing distance.

Tip: For outdoor signage, make the QR code large enough to scan from a few feet away.

Pro Tips for Location QR Codes
  • Pin the exact entrance, not just the building
  • For parking lots, pin the specific entrance or parking area
  • Add context near the QR code: 'Scan for directions'
  • Test navigation from multiple starting points
